The Key Telephone System (KTS)

The Key Telephone System or simply referred to as the KTS is usually the standard telephone system used for small to medium office environment.

It is usually distinguished with several buttons on the digital phone set that allows users to directly select incoming and outgoing lines. Internal communication within the office (extension to extension) is provided via the intercom feature. Other popular features include speed dial access, group pick up and conference calls.

The Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX)

It is a common misconception that PABX are just larger key telephone system (KTS) with more features
as the two systems are of similar architectural elements but the PABX is built for greater reliability and higher growth capacities. Additionally, the PABX is able to handle heavy levels of call traffic as well as provide more levels of redundancy.>
